Call to Order:            Adam Germek  (7:09 pm)

 

Summary of Action Items from this Meeting:

 

1.    New Board Elected

2.    Proposed Constitutional Amendments regarding Playing Team Composition, job description for Disciplinary Committee Chairmen, and Player Eligibility voted on and passed.

3.    Discussion regarding method for collecting player passes and obtaining new liability waivers from each player.

 

                                                                              

Election of new Board

 

·         Angelo Koliavas volunteers for open seat for Vice President

·         Kathleen DeLaney volunteers for open seat for Secretary

·         Remaining seats are unchanged (Adam Germek – President, John Havlik – Treasurer, Erik Thompson – Registrar, and Gabe Montero – Disciplinary Chair).

·         Bob Murphy moved that the board be elected.

·         Mark Warrington seconded the motion.  Motion carried.

·         Board voted in.

 

League Reports:

Disciplinary Chairmen’s Report:  Gabe Montero

                                                                       

·         Nothing to report.

 

Vice President Report:  Angelo Koliava 

 

·         Nothing to report.

 

Registrar Report: Erik Thompson

 

·         Still need to collect liability forms from many  players

·         Discussed updating player cards with a seal

·         Discussed need for consistent registration process in each City (i.e., need to verify original ID before issuing player pass)

 

Treasurer Reports:  John Havlik

 

·         Handed out copies of balance sheet

·         $1,874.35 in bank as of May 1, 2009

City Rep Reports:

Danville

 

·         Nothing to report.

 

San Ramon

 

·         Nothing to report.

 

Walnut Creek

 

·         Nothing to report.

 

Orinda

 

·         Nothing to report.

 

Unfinished Business:

 

·                     Soccer balls to teams with highest attendance

 

New Business:

 

·         Diablo Cup

o   There are currently 15 teams signed up for the Diablo Cup. 

o   Possibly have 1 more team

 

·         Discussion regarding collecting player passes and issuing new passes with seals.  Proposed that:

o   League collect all passes at end of season and add seal

o   Each team turn in roster at beginning of season and obtain active player passes from registrar

o   Each team is responsible for looking at opposing team’s player passes before game

 

·         Discussion regarding obtaining new signed liability waivers from each player

 

·         Constitutional Amendments discussed and voted on

o   Proposal to change DASL by-law “IV Playing Team Composition”

o   Proposal to change DASL Job Description for Disciplinary Committee Chairmen

o   Proposal to change DASL by-law “V. Player Eligibility”

 

·         New referee coordinator:  Alex

 

Member’s Concerns:

 

·         Players want to see disciplinary status on the Web site

·         Players would like consistency on substitution rules

·         Discussed one player’s confrontation of underaged female player and relationship to proposed new process for issuing passes with seals and having team check player passes. 

 

 

A. Germek moved that the meeting be adjourned.

B. Murphy  seconded the motion.  Motion carried.   

Meeting adjourned at 8:41 pm.
